AspiringDocs.org® Press Kit
America is growing more diverse, and the medical profession needs to catch up. While African Americans, Latinos, and Native Americans make up 28 percent of the U.S. population, only 14 percent of medical school graduates are members of these groups.
The nation’s changing demographics, the health care demands of an increasingly diverse population, and the growing evidence of persistent health care disparities faced by minority populations demonstrate that the need for more African American, Latino, and Native American doctors is real. Combined with an overall shortage of physicians that is projected by 2020, the need is urgent.
Please download the AspiringDocs.org Press Kit here that details the challenges and needs for creating a more diverse physician workforce.
