Who can give me advice about financial planning, financial aid, and applying for financial aid?

Resources are available to help you plan for how you will pay for medical school. And by taking the initiative, you’ll end up with good information and good advice. 

In addition to Web sites such as AspiringDocs.org and individual medical school Web sites, you can look to your school’s health professions advisors (sometimes called premed or prehealth advisors) and financial aid advisors at the medical schools in which you have interest. These individuals are knowledgeable about programs and resources that students from underrepresented groups or disadvantaged backgrounds are likely to find useful.

State loan forgiveness or repayment programs are available to practicing physicians, residents, and (sometimes to) medical students to repay education loans in return for medical service in the state’s areas of need.
